Jewish military and Mossad support for Obama?
A Jewish political action committee that supports Barack Obama is using the words of former senior Israeli defense officials in a new pro-Obama video. (Ex-defense officials 'recruited' by Jewish pro-Obama group)
Brig. Gen. (res.) Shlomo Brom, states that the Bush government caused great harm to Israel's interests, and that McCain would continue Bush's policies.
Yossi Alpher, a former senior Mossad official, says that McCain would continue Bush's failed policies. Alpher favours talks with Iran.
Col. (res.) Shaul Arieli states that Obama would help Israel reach peace agreements.
"I would personally vote for Obama to help the State of Israel," says Brig. Gen. (res.) Giora Inbar.
Former Israel Defense Forces chief of staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak says Bush's Middle East efforts were "not professionally handled," and that Obama's speeches had convinced him that Obama supports Israel.
Maj. Gen. (res.) Amram Mitzna declares that Obama "brings many hopes".
Former Mossad chief Ephraim Halevy says that 2009 will be the last possible moment for stopping Iran's nuclear program, and he thinks Obama could further this goal.
Maj. Gen. (res.) Uzi Dayan says he believes the next American president must talk with Iran.
Dayan now claims he had no idea he was appearing in the ad. and he opposes any Israeli involvement in American politics.
Halevy now denies ever having expressed support for Obama.
