Coup in Turkey?

At the beginning of July 2008, the Turkish government arrested 23 people linked to an ultranationalist group called Ergenekon.

Reportedly, Ergenekon wants the military to take over Turkey.

Two retired Turkish generals, suspected of being in Ergenekon, have been put in prison.

In 2007, 27 grenades and other explosives were found in an Istanbul apartment. These were linked to Ergenekon.

The Turkish media have suggested that a coup might involve 'mass protests, clashes with police, assassinations, and use of the media to provoke fear'. (Political strife deepens in Turkey )
